Speaker Information
Bruce is a public policy expert with three decades of experience. He is known for combining deep analytical insight with clear, persuasive communication. His work is grounded in evidence and driven by results. Bruce has led national associations and industry coalitions in the transport sector, advised senior federal Cabinet Ministers, and championed policy solutions across a wide range of issues. As a trusted strategist and communicator, he brings clarity and credibility to complex policy debates.
Prior to becoming Managing Director at EAG, Bruce led a national industry association focused on sustainable transportation. Under his leadership, the Natural Gas Vehicle Alliance transformed into The Transport Project Canada – a leading voice for low-emissions transportation. During his tenure, the organization expanded its membership, rebranded and significantly expanded its influence in national policy discussions.
Bruce has earned a strong reputation as a trusted advisor to both political and business leaders, delivering fact-based, evidence-driven strategies to help shape effective public policy. As the previous Policy Director to former Minister Christian Paradis, Bruce played a central role in advancing key federal initiatives, including ensuring integrity in Canada’s wireless spectrum auction; supporting the retention of the auto sector during a U.S. led industrial contraction; reforming military procurement and launching the national shipbuilding strategy; and defending Canada’s energy sector on the global stage. His deep expertise in fiscal policy and government operations was also central to helping support federal Cabinet Committee members, as well as the Cabinet Deficit Reduction Action Committee members, where he contributed advice on spending reduction strategies. As an advisor to former Treasury Board Minister Vic Toews, Bruce provided cross-sector policy advice on finance, government operations, natural resources, transport, environment and agriculture.
Over the past decade, Bruce has been a regular speaker and panelist at high-profile national forums, including: CUTRIC’s Zero-Emission Bus Conference, the Canada Gas & LNG Summit, Clean Fuels Canada Summit, CUTA Fal Conference and Trade Show, and the Hydrogen Business Council Conference. He has authored numerous government submissions, testified before parliamentary committees, and written widely on public finance and energy issues. His work has appeared in leading national outlets such as the Globe and Mail and National Post.
